“Unity in Sacrifice”
Brave soul, who dared to face the scourge,
Unarmed, he shielded Hindu guests from the scourge
His cry rang out, “These are our guests, do not kill!”
As bullets pierced his chest, unheeding of the will.
A Muslim by faith, he faced a Muslim foe,
For the sake of a Hindu, with courage, he did go.
In that fleeting moment, labels fell away,
As a Kashmiri, he stood for the country that day.
A man who did not shrink, his life for others to give,
Could have saved himself, in faith’s name, he could live.
Yet he stood firm against terror, with courage profound,
For Syed Adil Hussain Shah, where true humanity is found.
A son held father’s lifeless head, kissed it with tender lips
The soul trembles with piercing grief, the heart weeps.
When identity itself becomes the reason for death,
Even this glimmer of humanity seems an amazing wreath.
“Through ages past, such unity did shine,
Where faith and country intertwine.
Martyr, Hakim Khan Suri, he fought beside
Maharana Pratap their faith did not divide.
In a world divided, identification reigns supreme,
Your act reminds us of humanity’s true dream.
Alas, now it seems, to be human is not enough,
We’re judged by Hindu, Muslim, or other guff.
In Kashmir that day, humanity thrived,
As Adil stood against the dreadful sight.
But alas, the media turned a blind eye,
In silence, his deeds would quietly die.
Syed Adil, your sacrifice, a beacon so bright,
Guiding us through darkness, a selfless light.
Your courage blazes fiercely against the night,
A flame of hope that burns with all its might.
Oh Adil, in your sacrifice, we find our way,
A path to harmony, where peace holds sway.
May your memory forever light our hearts,
And teach us how true brotherhood starts.
In a world where hate’s shadow fiercely swings,
A Kashmiri’s heart with a wounded child clings,
Through flames of terror, they both struggle and strive,
Is identity lost, or does humanity still survive?
Not just a traveler, you saved dying humanity.
A beacon of hope, a paragon of unity.
Though politics of hate may seek to erase,
His sacrifice for all shines in history’s gaze.
Poem -2
“Carrying Hope in Despair”
In a world where hate’s shadows blindly swing,
A Kashmiri’s heart bears the weight of pain,
With a wounded child on his back, fears cling,
In the flames of terror, is love left to wane?
In a world where hate’s shadow fiercely swings,
A Kashmiri’s heart with a wounded child clings,
Through flames of terror, they both struggle and strive,
Is identity lost, or does humanity still survive?
Oh Kashmir, land of beauty and strife,
Where love and hate wage war for life,
For in the face of hatred’s blindest hour,
Love proved itself the mightiest power
Their poisoned politics seek to suffocate
The seeds of unity, before they germinate.
While media’s veil obscures what’s true and great,
Love’s tender message struggles to permeate.
Let this tale of courage forever ring,
A testament to what kindness can bring.
In arms that cradle both friend and foe,
Seeds of compassion begin to grow.
