Patna: In an embarrassment for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) the Patna Police has starting questioning its MP from Bihar, Giriraj Singh, in connection with the recovery of Rs 1.14 crore in cash, jewellery and $600 that were reportedly stolen from his house earlier this week.
The JDU, RJD as well as the Congress have demanded Singh’s arrested and sought termination of his Parliament membership alleging the recovered amount as “black money”. JDU, RJD and Congress MLAs trooped into well in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on July 9 demanding stringent action against Singh.
Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed surprise over the volume of cash and US dollar which were recovered. “The volume is big. It raises question as from where did it come?” Kumar told reporters emerging from Legislative council. He hailed prompt action by Patna police in nabbing the culprits and recovery of stolen items in short time.

Rs 1.14 crore in cash, jewellery and 600 dollars were stolen from Giriraj Singh’s house earlier this week.
JDU MLAs sat on dharna at the main entrance of the Assembly demanding immediate arrest of Giriraj Singh, the MP from Nawada, and termination of his membership in the wake of recovery of such a huge amount of cash and US dollars.
