Golden Age: Timeless Spirit
As time slips softly through our hands,
Unnoticed, we age, like shifting sands.
One day we gaze, startled by the mirror’s truth,
While in our hearts still burns the fire of youth.
Within our hearts, the curious flame,
That restless soul, still wild, untamed,
In the heart of the young, the dreams still weave,
Like whispers of love that never leave.
Our hearts still dream, yearning for more,
Laughing and weeping as they did before.
The mind refuses to see the divide
Between body and soul, where truths reside.
We try to look outside, stern and gray,
But we hide from youngsters and sing and dance,
Family members keep us at arm’s length,
For the world expects seriousness and grace.
The mind denies the body’s plea,
For heart and soul, seek to be free.
Yet in secret, our hearts still leap and play,
As mirth and joy find their hidden way.
The soul eternal, the body grows old,
Yet at fifty-five, the heart still holds
Though the years may pass, time cannot erase
The childlike wonder that shines on the face.
This duality of flesh and soul,
Reveals a wisdom that makes us whole.
A constant dance of mortal and divine,
Where life’s great mysteries softly entwine.
