Mrs. Naheed Hasnain (nee Naqvi) , an alumnus of La Martiniere Girls’ College has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Lamartiniere Girls College Alumni Association , at the Lamartiniere Girls’ College Annual Prize Day held in college Campus, today.

The Award recognizes Mrs. Hasnain’s efforts which transformed her love for books into a career that has spanned for over three decades.

Post her schooling from LMGC, she went on to complete her Graduation and Post-Graduation in Library Sciences from Isabella Thoburn College. She gained professional experience in the UK at the Manchester Public Library and Central Library, London. Upon her return to India, post marriage she joined the Institute of Foreign Languages, where she taught French for an year before joining the prestigious La Martiniere College, Lucknow as a Librarian.
In her 33 years of service, Mrs. Hasnain took it upon herself to imbibe the habit of reading in the students by introducing engaging activities and making the library period fun , exciting and learning for the boys. The admiration the students have for her is witnessed till date when she is visited by old students of the College who fondly remember her.
On the social front, Mrs. Hasnain was elected President of Isabella Thoburn College Alumnae Association for two consecutive terms, besides being actively involved with a number of socio-religious organizations, trying to uplift the poor and downtrodden.
She stands as an example of a remarkable woman who did not let any circumstance deter her from her passion for her career.
