Lucknow:On the occassion of 196th birth anniversary of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah on 30th July(Monday) CORD and ARTHA organised a deliberation to discuss the life and time of benevolent ruler of Awadh who set an example of a welfare state in Awadh.This deliberation was held at Coffee House,Hazratganj,Lucknow.
The deliberation was prominently attended by Dr Dauji Gupta,Prof Ramesh Dixit,Vandana Mishra,Pradeep Kapoor,Mohd Rashid,Abhishek Dixit it was chaired by Janab Amir Haider and several prominent activists of Lucknow attended too.
It was resolved in the deliberation to celebrate bicentanary of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah’s birth from 2021-2022 and a committe be constituted in the Presidentship of Prof Ramesh Dixit to mark the celebration.
It was resolved that a demand be made to authorities to recognise Wajid Ali Shah as National Hero of the war of 1857.
A biography Parikhana written during the captured period of Nawab has stated a wrongful account of life and time of Nawab including his contribution to music and literary work such contradictory sketch developed through his biography and to actual life as sketched by historians has cast the doubt on Parikhana so authenticity of it should be done academically where hisorians of eminence be commissioned to document the life and time of Nawab again.
