Lucknow- Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi, General Secretary of Majlis Ulema-e-Hind, has announced that an important meeting of the prominent Ulema; both Sunni and Shia will shortly scrutinize the functioning of the BJP led NDA government at the centre and carve out a strategy about the ongoing Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and also upcoming Assembly elections in Delhi.
Addressing a Press Conference, the religious leader, who is also Imam of Aasefi Masjid, said that revival of Waqf properties is one of the most important issues for the Muslim community. He asserted that NDA government has not indicated its seriousness in resolving Karbala Jorbagh issue in the national capital. He said that although Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, during three different meetings has assured him for implementing Delhi High court orders, but till date nothing has been done. The present government seems to be evading its promises, he added.
He further said that previous UPA government at the centre and Shiela Dikshit government in Delhi were thrown out of power due to its insincere and dishonest attitude. They had to face the music of people’s displeasure. Maulana Kalbe Jawad has been leading the Save Karbala Movement in the capital for last several years. Due to delaying tactics adopted by the than Shiela Dikshit government in implementing court orders, Maulana Kalbe Jawad, on the eve of Assembly elections, had appealed the people not to vote for Congress. His meeting with BJP leader Rajnath Singh, before this years’ parliamentary elections was also considered to be very important.
Maulana Kalbe Jawad was recently off loaded at IGI Airport while he was leading a six member Anjuman-E-Haideri (AEH) delegation heading to Iraq for meeting Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi and other dignitaries in Baghdad and renowned religious leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Siestani in Najaf. The meetings were also to cover the efforts to release Indian workers held captive by ISIS terrorists.
Immigration officials had stopped Maulana Kalbe Jawad and five others on the basis of a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued by Intelligence Bureau. He alleged that there are certain rogue elements in Intelligence Bureau who are responsible for keeping the government in dark about the anti-terror efforts of Anjuman-E-Haideri. He has written a letter to seek meetings with Prime Minister, Home Minister and Minister of External Affairs to appraise them about the situation.
Anjuman-E-Haideri’s Save Karbala Movement and mobilizing volunteers for Iraq campaign have been patronized by Maulana Kalbe Jawad Naqvi. He called upon the youth to sign up as volunteers to serve the humanitarian needs of the victims of terrorism in Iraq. A huge number of them came forward and offered to donate blood for the victims and medical and other professional help for rehabilitee the victims of terrorism in Iraq. In the beginning they had even offered to non-violent and peaceful human shield around holy shrines Karbala and Najaf, which are sacrosanct to the entire humanity and were being threatened by ISIS.
