The Department of History and English at Maharaja Bijli Pasi Government P.G. College hosted an International WEBINAR series from the 27th to 30th of April 2020 on the topic “Humanity and Human Catastrophe :
A Historical and literary perspective in the light of COVID-19”. The Inaugural was held on the 27th of April via Video conferencing under the patronage of the Principal Dr Manju Dikshit. Mr Sanjay Bhoosereddy,I.A.S. ,Principal Secretary,Excise,Sugar Industry and Cane Development, Govt.of U.P.and Commissioner, Cane and Sugar,U.P. was the Chief guest and Keynote speaker for the day.
Mr Bhoosereddy threw light on the ongoing global crisis and the initiatives taken by the Government of UP to handle the Nr Bhooseredy dealt with the histo, literary, sociological and economic aspects of the global pandemic in detail. Students from the college presented their research papers during the WEBINAR which revolved around various sub themes covered during the Conference.
The WEBINAR which is going to be a 4 days event will be addressed by eminent speakers from various fields relevant to the global crisis. The guest list includes,Dr Zoya Ali Rizvi,deputy commissioner,Adolescent and child health division,MOHFW,Govt of India,New Delhi.Mr Shadab Raza, a career banker and financial expert from London,Mr Manish Tripathi,an ace fashion designer and official designer BCCI AND IPL and Mrs Anamika Banerjee,from NMIMS University,Mumbai.
The event was convened and organized by Dr Sarita Singh,Dr Shweta Mishra and Dr Sanobar Haider.
