Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, after HC court had deferred a plea for a CBI probe till July 20, said that he would request the Supreme Court that the investigation in the Vyapam scam be handed over to the CBI.
Supreme Court transfers investigation to CBI and also asked the investigating agency to probe the deaths linked to the Vyapam Scam.
SC said, “Instead of deciding on a CBI probe, the Madhya Pradesh High Court washed its hands off (the case) and put the ball in our court.”
All cases has been transferred to CBI after Attorney General tells court that the agency can investigate into the case.
As the mysterious deaths and opposition demands continues, the Supreme Court, will hear pleas of Congress leader Digvijay Singh and three whistle-blowers’ seeking an apex court-monitored Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) probe into the Vyapam case in Madhya Pradesh.
A bench headed by chief justice HL Dattu had agreed to give an urgent hearing over the case and posted all petitions to be heard today. “ We can fix all the matters together. It will come on July 9,” the bench comprising the HL Dattu and justices Arun Kumar Mishra and Amitava Roy had said. Earlier on July 8, the Madhya Pradesh high court had deferred a plea for a CBI probe till July 20. The court said that it will wait for the SC ruling on petition. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, after the HC decision, had said that he would request the Supreme Court that the investigation in the Vyapam scam be handed over to the CBI.
According to reports, as many as 46 people associated with the deadliest scam as accused or witnesses have died under mysterious circumstances.
