The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) may give a clean chit to former Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya in connection with the murder of Kunda DSP Zia-ul-Haq.
As per reports, thursday, the CBI, in its closure reports, has said that it has no evidence against Raja Bhaiya. Four others – Gulshan Yadav, Guddu Singh, Rohit Singh and Hari Om Srivastava– have also been, reportedly, given a clean chit by the investigating agency.
Raja Bhaiya had undergone a lie-detection test but it was inconclusive, reports added..
The minister, who was made to resign following allegations of his involvement in the murder, had earlier undergone a lie-detection test and had said he was not worried to face any test.
Raja Bhaiya, former food and civil supplies minister in UP government, was not named in the CBI chargesheet in connection with the murder. The former MLA had been questioned by the CBI on 15 and 16 May.
Haq was shot dead on 2 March in Balipur village in Kunda area of Pratapgarh district where he had gone to probe murder of village head Nanhe Yadav.
Haq’s wife Parveen Azad had accused Raja Bhaiya of conspiracy after which he had to resign from the Cabinet on 4 March.
