Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA), a registered voluntary organization based in Mumbai, engaging Men and Boys to address issues of gender inequality and discrimination and help stop prevent gender-based violence against women.
MAVA is organizing a 2 day travelling film festival in Delhi on 30-31 January 2019 at Lucknow University (Old Campus) JK Hall in collaboration with the Department of Social Work at the University.

Some 15 outstanding films on gender and related themes from national – regional and international sources, would be screened at the 2 day travelling film festival. These films cover a wide range of gender matters – from various forms of gender-based discrimination / violence against women to homophobia and transphobia to challenging the male gender stereotypes and existing dominant model of Masculinity. The festival is first of its kind in India showcasing films and facilitated discussions on all genders and their intersectionality.
The target group of the festival is young men and women of 18 to 25 years studying in Colleges / Universities that run under-graduate and professional Courses in Arts / Commerce / Science / Management / Engineering / Technology streams and who are part of civil society organizations including those working on human rights and gender. Animated discussions over screening of bunch of films would be a key part of the 2-day program at all locations. These discussions would be facilitated by experienced professionals — from academicians to gender rights activists to film-makers and journalists.
