– The 3rd edition of Lucknow Literature Festival to commence from 13th February -Pandit Birju Maharaj to be felicitated with the Wajid Ali Shah Award-
Lucknow– The rich heritage of Lucknow is set to come alive from 13th to 15th February as the Lucknow Literature Festival – an initiative of Lucknow Society, showcases the literary fabric to over thousands of expected visitors. The city of Nawabs is all set to witness a galaxy of writers, speakers, thinkers, poets and performers at one platform.
The third edition of the festival that will be held in the heart of the city at Scientific Convention Centre, King George Medical University is set to showcase the famous Lucknowi Tahzeeb to its audience. Entry to the festival is free and open to all, attracting visitors from across the globe.
This year Lucknow Literature Festival (LLF) for the first time will award Wajid Ali Shah Award to the noted dance guru Pt. Birju Maharaj. Over the three days festival, Lucknow Literature festival will see seminars, sessions and discussions over art, culture, music, poetry and much more. The festival will also see book launches, dance performances and a hoard of cultural activities.
Leading eminent personalities such as Ravinder Singh, Preeti Shenoy, Nandita Pandey, Dr. Naresh Saxena, Shivmoorti, Munawwar Rana, Bekal Utsahi, Sharib Rudaulvi, Arif Naqvi, Ipsita Halder,Gopaldas Neeraj, Salman Khurshid, Maulana Kalbe Sadiq, Rekha Surya, Natalia Hindler, Saswati Sen,Manjari Deo, Prof. SB Nimse, Prof Vaishampain, Nilofer Pourzand, Ritwik Patra, Augustine Veliath, Rakshanda Jalil, Ali Javed, Shafey Kidwai, Farah Usmani, Urvashi Sahni, Qaisra Shahraz and many more will be attending the festival. Ravinder Singh’s upcoming book ‘Your Dreams are Mine’, Preeti Shenoy’s ‘It happens for a reason and Munawwar Rana’s ‘Teen Shehron Ka Chautha Aadmi’ are some of the books that will be launched during the Literature festival. Qawalli, Kathak, Ghazals and Dastangoi are some of the musical performances that will be staged during the three day literary festival.
