The Book Understanding of Legal Concepts deals with legal concept formation as an essential component of law formation. Legal concept” is a tricky subject, such as the concept of rights: a right means one thing when giving directions but quite another when discussing the legal system. Even within the law, the concept of a right is different when considering an individual’s freedom from torture than when discussing nature’s right to remediation. Conversely, different words can represent a similar concept.
The book Understanding the Israel-Palestine Conflict comprehensively covers a wide range of subjects regarding Palestine’s ongoing struggle for their homeland, including historical conflicts between Arabs and Jews, and the rise of Jewish nationalism. Furthermore, the book investigates the extent to which this conflict has deeply violated the principles of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and examines the history of prejudices exacerbated by foreign colonisation. Moreover, the book scrutinizes the historical biases that have been intensified by foreign colonization. It reveals the unlawful establishment of the state of Israel and its contentious position in the Middle East region. Major political events have shaped the largest displacement and expulsion of populations in the world, suffering, oppression, exploitation, and ultimately brutal loss of millions of lives. The book aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the complex and continuing conflict, including its historical, political, legal, and contemporary aspects.
Fundamentals of the Law of the Sea
The law of the sea provides for the regulation, management, and governance of the ocean spaces that cover over two-thirds of the Earth’s surface. It would not be an exaggeration to say that a healthy marine environment is a basis for our lives. The book provides a critical overview of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982. It seeks to provide readers with a thorough understanding of the law of the sea as a fundamental element of public international law. It looks more closely at the events that followed, such as the numerous bilateral, regional, and international accords. Additionally, it covers seabed management and dispute settlement procedures, including how the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) operates.
